Default i need help can anyone help me

ok today i just got my avic d3 installled the questions i have is is there a way for the scion door hatch that hides the stereo to go down like it did with stock unit or because i have the avic now it wont. Imput on that would be great. Also how do you get the scion logo to appear on the avic when starting up?And how much more is the plug to make my steering wheel controls functional?

Check it: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...t=install+avic

Look at the first few pictures and follow his directions.

I dont know about the last 2..

to answer your first question.... did you use the metal brackets that where holding the stock radio?? If yes, you are going to have to drill new holes farther back(on the metal brackets), which puts the avic farther back when you mount it to the new holes...

the drilling the new holes is probably the best way to go. wht i did w/ mine was when they installed it they drilled new holes but still it would switch things so i just ended up grinding down some of the door down. can't even tell tho but it came out good.

AVIC411.com will tell you how to load backgrounds. You can get the PES-WIPS or PAC-SWI for around $30-$50, you'll need to get a resistor also that will cost you maybe a $1 at radio shack to be able to use the steering wheel controls.

^^ the pac-swi should come with a small bag of resistors included for various vehicle applications.

please, please don't go to the shack.

i've always seen a bag of different resistors for different cars in a bag with the instructions to install and program the pac-swi.

and.. the shack sucks.
