hey guys i was hoping some of you could help me figure out how to wire my led for my killerglass hose. Since i want to wire it to a switch on the inside i think this is the right forumn.

OK, this is the rocker switch i bought at lowes, ita a 2 prong switch.



Now heres my led, its a 2 black and red wire combo.



i appreciate any help that can be given. Ive been waiting a while to recieve my led.

 

I was just thinking you could use a pin switch under the hood for this. So when you open the hood it comes on. I would run a fuse between the battery and the source (led) and put the pin switch on the negative ground wire.

i have never heard of a pin switch

 

A pin switch is like a door switch or a switch for an alarm system.

.. it's a momentary switch which is spring loaded... when the hood is down.. it presses it... when it's open.. the spring pushes it up...

just hook it up as you would a regular led with power running to it.... all you gotta do to add a switch is to put it in series... and blah.. there ya go... a switch to cut out power and such when you want it off..

 

ok cool, but what if i dont want the led to come on every time the hood is up

Put a small switch to turn it off.

 

wire another switch there... so you can have the option of the pin or not!

i want something simple on/off that i can control, having 2 switches for one led is kinda out there

 

hmm.. not really... it's nice to have..

it's not like it's a big extra switch on the dash or anything extravagant..

 

i know, i bough tthe switch that have have now for the purpse it plugs right in to the switch panel oem style and i could control it from inside the car

 

buy a switch w/ 3 prongs and you can do that. instead of having just on and off, its "up" on 1, "middle" off, ""down" on 2.

 

You could use the oem style switch you already have and then by a simple pin switch and your good to go.

 

any diagram for doing this maybe even a rough sketch
