Default Install ideas

Hey all,

I recently bought a Kenwood bluetooth adapter for my phone to make calls through.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7901.html

It's a poor design IMO, but I plan on keeping it.

My question is, where should I run the microphone? I will install the box wherever, but the mic can only go so far from the box because of the cord length. I also want this to be a clean install, without the mic cord showing, and I don't feel like tearing apart the headliner, although it'd certainly be the best location. Will the headliner sag when I put it back if I decided to undertake this huge hassle? Is there even a right-up of how to do it yet?

All suggestions appreciated. I'm stumped.

I'd like the mic in front of me. And in order to keep my sanity, i'd have to run the wire under the A pillar (I think it's A? The one in the front of the car) and headliner to run it to the sun visor.

What i'm thinking right now, is to run it under the dash from the HU to the steering column, then run it up onto the steering post.

Thank you though, faster reply than what I was expecting.

I always install bluetooth microphones or voice activated dvd/navigation unit microphones close to the top of the rear view mirror. right at the edge of the headliner and the windshield. The mic is strong enough to pic up your voice, and it isn't an eye sore.

Where do you run it? Under panels or out open?

No, it's all about hiding all the wires. Run it behind the A (or B)-pillar cover, and in the headliner.

That's what I meant. I want it out of sight. I'm going to try to find a tutorial for removing the A pillars.

How bout mount the box in the area where your knees are and run the mic right behind the steering wheel and infront of your speedometer.

That's what I meant by putting it on the steering post, but the location for the box you mentioned made me think that I may be able to just snake the mic into that position without taking the dash off. Thank you!
