My friend just gave me 2 infinity kappa 63.7i speakers that I plan on instlaling into the front. They are 6.5" so they should fit fine. Im running everything stock with an infinity basslink II in the trunk. Can i hookup the kappa's with the stock HU?

What else do I need to know as I am completely new to this.

The RMS for those speakers is 75watts. I wouldn't run them without an amp.

 

so the stock HU cant handle 75 watts rms?

 

nope the stock is only rated at 20 rms.

 

So it would def be a good idea to get a amp for those puppies or they will sound like poop.

 

Could you please point me in the direction of some solid, yet inexpensive, subs for this application.

Yeah I meant Amps. Since I have the Basslink II, I can expand it with the Basslink 4sc. It says it provides 50w x 4 channels. Can I make it 100w x 2 channels? Is the 4sc a good product? http://www.cardomain.com/item/INFBASSLINK4SC

 

make sure you have a drill and some baffles so you can take the stock 5.25's and make them able to fit 6.5's

 

Those speakers are 2 ohms. The stock deck will not work with them.
