stock HU is good enough for my use. I run a loc. I run it off the rear speakers. don't remember the wire colors. Tech section should list them tho.

I've hooked up the LOC into the rear speaker outputs and ran it to the sub's amp since I don't use rear speakers in my car. The front is more than enough for imaging. Then I've tapped into the ignition lead for the remote for a switched 12 volt source. If you look around, you can find a wiring schematic on a PDF file in this forum.

^^ are you supposed to disconnect the rear speakers if u run a loc on them? I didn't disconnect the rear speakers. I tapped the LOC in right at the head unit.

yeah, I disconnected the rears since I don't use them in my system (for music)... I actually use my rear speakers for my bluetooth... the sound from my phone comes thru the rear speakers, while a mic next to my shifter picks up my voice...

It's ok to tap into speaker wires while their in use, but he's just saying he didn't at the time.

Also, I'm pretty the factory sub receives its signal from the front speakers.

Yeah, I didn't mean to say that disconnecting the rear speakers was required... it's just my preference... and I also have them used separately for my bluetooth...

Unfortunately, I never had the factory sub, so I can't contribute an educated answer to that question...
