First off I did a search and didn't find what I was looking for, so its time to post...

I was looking to get the interior light kit and do it myself. I was wondering if anyone had a DIY on this or something better then the sorry instructions that come with it. I hate to dish out about $150.00 for the dealer to put it in when I could pocket the $. I was looking for some pretty pictures cause I can't read. j/k If anyone can that would be great.

i don't know about you... but whatever instructions i've seen toyota parts come with are intended for individuals who have no idea what they're doing...

come on... they included instructions for the AEM oil cap...

why do you want the oem kit anyways?

highly highly recommend aftermarket when it comes to auxilary lighting. i mean, just find a picture of my interior.... engine bay...... exterior....... etc and you'll understand where im comming from.

 

don't think anyone here would have written a DIY for the factory led kit as most people spend their money and save it by going aftermarket.

 

Well I got the whole kit for $50.00 so I can't complain compared to the $250.00 the dealer wants... then again they install it and I have to figure it out. I;d rather keep the extra $200.00!!

 

Sorry to 'revive' this old thread but I hope some of you can see this as me 'searching' for an answer.
Anyway, my gf has an 05 tC and recently bought the interior light kit for her car. She has always wanted it and don't care much for aftermarket stuff and she wants me to install it for her ... I found the link (http://www.toyotaparts4u.com/installation_manuals.htm) in the FAQ thread but this link is useless now, looks like the site is being updated or something ... anyway, do you guys know where I can find this manual so I can get her lights installed this weekend? Some help would be greatly appreciated!! (I will continue to search but so far I've spent a good 30 mins looking and nothing)

Try that one right there its the factory instal manual for the kit, its what I used. If you buy the kit from the factory it comes with this tho.

you are the man!!! thanks a lot, i've spent hrs looking for the damn thing!! .... now would it be too much to ask for someone to update the FAQs w/this link? I mean I already got what I wanted but who knows, someone else may need it in the future.... and again, thanks bro!

 

If your going to get aftermarket parts that the dealership sells go to that sight first. The dealership by me wanted $420 for the TYC tails and I got them off that site for like $260 shipped. Tell me that ain't F'd up.
