iPhone works
I don't think so, probably 300 at most, but it would be great if the iPhone followed in the RAZR's footsteps, because the RAZR is on every network now, when it used to be on just one, and hopefully the iPhone will get that way. They could sell so many more phones if it was on all the networks.
According to pcworld the razr was priced @ $500 in 2004: http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,12...3/article.html
but really my point is that for another $100 you get more what you used to get from the razr.

The iPhone most likely won't go to other networks. When Apple was shopping around trying to get people to do iTunes on cell phones, the only carrier that bit, was Cingular. Obviously it is now AT&T, but they basically have an agreement, since they were the only ones to try it, that they are the only one who are going to have it for at least a couple of years.
I dont know if Apple is a company that listens to customers like scion does. But i know that if they did, when their exclusive contract (I assume they have one) with AT&T runs out, they will go to the others networks like Motorola, Samsung, and Sanyo are. If they are smart, they wont deny the ability to make more money.
verizon for me, got the enV,,,love it
iPhone looks cool, but first gen is prolly wack compared to the later models,,, and 5 benjamins? not about to pay that for a phone!

The iPhone price wise is very high as it doesn't have 3g(broadband cell phone internet) or GPS. The selling point for it is its very well made interface...it's much easier to use than any other Smartphone/PocketPC. Also, $600 after contract is ridiculous...$600 w/o would be acceptable. The Cingular 8525 does everything the iPhone does plus more for $300 after contract
At any rate, glad to see it works with the tC
Sure, but the razr was impressive for its time. The iPhone doesn't have anything new

The only thing special about the phone is Multi-Touch and the Proximity Sensor like birzrule mentioned. But, the iPhone has horrible keyboard recognition, and with no hard buttons, it makes the iPhone weak. And it goes to the same internet everyone else goes to.... what a stupid commercial

Multisensor touch screen is interesting and the proximity sensor is as well...but like you said it's not a ground breaking must have. If the iPhone was $400 I for one wouldn't be _____ing about it

My last phone(Qtek 8310 aka Cingular 2125, TMobile SDA) had wifi. It's nice if there's a network around...which usually if there is you have access to a computer. However on the go you generally don't have wifi access and thus you're stuck with the slow EDGE
u have to remember 3G isnt everywhere... edge is. and plenty of other phones use edge just fine for browsing and eventually everything will go 3G including the iphone. and im not big on the iphone but after messing w/ one the keyboard isnt as bad as i thought and the predictive text works really well. the big thing about the iphone is u have to look at it more as if it was an ipod that can make phone calls and browse the web.
i personally wouldnt get an n75 cause the menu is way too slow and the n95 will be coming soon but its still a cool phone just like the iphone.

This has gone way off-topic, but I need to interject the following: Anyone who is hating on the iPhone has never used one for more than a few minutes. Edge is fine, I get 250kbps. Typing is faster than any other phone I have ever used. I average 28 wpm... crappy for a full size, but a phone keyboard will not beat it. Also, that 28 wpm is with one finger, pecking away. I have not moved to two thumbs, with which there is video evidence of 50+wpm. The screen is the best screen I have ever seen. The UI is the best one I have ever used on a mobile.
This is my fourth mobile phone of 2007, and the best one I have ever used. It has been highly scrutinized for the hype and whatnot but the bottom line is - best phone I have ever owned. It has a few negatives, but no mobile phone has been as highly scrutinized, ever.

I actually just got an N75 and expected the menu to be very slow...to my surprise it seemed to be quite normal and responsive...I don't get what people say when they mean that Symbian phones are slow
