Default ipod connection

Hey guys. Newbie here. Have read the sticky on ipod connects but had a couple questions. sorry if this is explained elsewhere but couldn't find it. Just got 2007 tC. Has the OEM Pioneer HU, single CD and the Aux input in center console. The other input has a blank cover on it. I assume this is the ipod connection. When I had the console apart, there is a wire harness laying by the shift. Nothing connected. Question: How do you tell if the HU will accept the ipod input and is the harness for this purpose? I know the Aux can be used but wondered about adding the ipod input. Any help is appreciated.

You are right, that blank spot inside the arm rest is for the ipod connection. You need to get the ipod cable from the dealer or there is a wire for sale in the classifieds that you can get. The wire you get from the dealer connects to wire underneath the trim, so you have to take the center trim out near your shifter to install. Lemme know if you need help.
