Ipod connection Question
I know this question has been posted several times, and many advises were given. But, I am still an idiot about it.
I have a 2006 TC, so yes, it comes with the IPOD outlet; AUX outlet, and something else. I don't have a XM Radio, just a standard radio feature. So, I am guessing that in order to listen to my Nano for the lowest cost.. I just need to get an audio cable, and plug it in? Thats it?
I just wanna ake sure this is exactly all I need to connect. I had a shuffle, and all I did was to purchase a FM transmitter and viola.. So, this whole audio cable thing is new to me.
Any help/advise is appreciated. Thanks!!!

where's the cable that it came from where you plug into that particular outlet.. and into your iPod?
check the glove box?

I think all you need is a male/male mini-jack cable, right? The aux plug and your nano headphone plug is the same. Go to Target/Walmart and find some decent looking one and you're all set. You don't have to spring for the fancy Belkin "iPod" model or the Monster Cable model.
thats my question.. I'm not sure what to get at all, but i'd like to keep my cost to the minimum possible. i went to target earlier, didn't see anything. thinking about going to bestbuy later. do you think thats all i'd need?
I use this : http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...duct_Id=193794
as it charges the ipod in the car as well as has the mini-jack outlet on it so that you just need a 6inch mini-jack cable to go from this thats plugged into the power jack to the aux jack. Hope you can figure out what I mean.

well... having something cost less... means that sound quality will suffer.... even if you use the AUX port using the stereo jack, or even with a RF transmitter...
it won't compete vice a direct hookup..
you'll need a completely new headunit.... as far as how much you want to spend on that... that's up to you... the factory upgrade is nice... but there are far better aftermarket ones that perform much better.... though don't expect any to be extremely cheap.

I just bought the 1/8" stereo to stereo cable and plugged one end into my shuffle and the other into the AUX outlet (I have an 06 w/o the iPod HU) and nothing happens. I push the AUX button on the HU but I don't think it works. Am I doing something wrong? I posted this on the iPod sticky as well so sorry for double posting, I'm just out of ideas...

FM modulators don't play nice in any big city with overhead power lines and such. In the SF Bay Area it is pretty difficult to find a clean part of the FM band.
HR Guy - Did you crank the volume on the shuffle to max or close to it?

Yeah, I maxed up the volume on the iPod, but the problem is, the AUX setting doesn't turn on. I read the manual for the stereo (first time I've done that...) and it said the HU should read "AUX" when the setting is working. Nothing happens when I press the button. I plugged the cable into the AUX outlet and the other end into my iPod but it doesn't work.
I tried the FM transmitter, but it sounds horrible and has a lot of static. I bought the cable with the gold plated ends since I heard it's supposed to sound better, but now I'm getting frustrated because I feel like an idiot thinking I'm doing something wrong. Isn't it just a matter of plugging it into the AUX and turning the stereo on?

HR Guy - Don't know what to tell ya man, it sounds like you're doing the right thing. Best thing to do is check out somebody else's scion with the same radio and see if your Shuffle and cable work in theirs. Or you should be able to take it back to the dealer and make them figure it out for you. Is the car still under warranty?
