Default Ipod to Headunit connection issue Help needed!!!

I have a 2006 Scion tC with iPod compatible Radio

For the past couple months i would be controlling my ipod through the headunit and it would act very strange. I would try to select a random artist and instead of showing only the albums by that artist it would act as if instead of selecting the artist drop down i selected the album dropdown and didnt ever select an artist. For example if i selected linkin park instead of showing hybrid theory it would show the first album alphabetically in my library. This is also totally intermitent sometimes it happends sometimes it doesnt and works perfectly normal.

So i went to my dealer they tried my ipod and another ipod same issue on both ipods we found a brand new tC on their lot and it did the exact same thing. They even called toyota tech support and got nothing from them.

I spoke to the Toyota tech rep for my area today he had no knowledge of such a problem and thought that i should try to duplicate the issue on an xA or xB and see what happends the thing is I dont know anyone with an xA or xB and the xAs on the lot were not ipod equipped. It shouldnt matter anyway because isnt it the same radio across the line?

Its not like this happends because i just started the car and it hasnt fully synced up or something because it happend even after 20 miles of driving.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this happening and has anything been found to fix it that toyota hasnt been informed of yet? Any knowledge on the issue would be greatly appreciated and I'll pass anything useful onto my dealer who will pass it on to toyota.

just trying to research the problem see if anyones found a fix or something for my dealer in case it shows up with someone else. Also yea its annoying when you go to find a song and you cant get to what you want. I'm a music lover and enjoy cruising with some music.

I remember having a similar problem back when I had my iPod Radio.

If I remember correctly, for me I just had to select another song and then when that song started playing I could go back in and choose correctly.

Someone fixed it by wiring a switch in somewhere on the radio wiring, but I forgot if it was the power of the ACC wire he switched.

Its not fixable, its just a glitch in Pioneer's programming, as far as I can remember.

This is one of the few reasons why so many people have upgraded deck's, the iPod radio is just so annoying on so many levels...

also does anyone know if when you finish with an album if its supposed to restart from the beginning or if its supposed to end. When i finsh an album it just sits there saying ipod on the left with a flashing 1 in the middle and the time of 000 on the right.

This is when i just play the music i dont press repeat or any other button i just play the albumn through finish the last song and it sits there with the flashing one.

I thought it was supposed to restart cause i thought it did before when nothing was selected but maybe i was wrong.

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=141584

Jan_Michael was able to get it to repeat the album by turning on repeat on the iPod.

That thread is old though, so may not be accurate.
