ipod integration + display and control from 07 tc?
hey scionlife
i wasn't very bright when i got my 07 tc; i didnt get the ipod integration unit. i was hella anti-ipod back in the day.
now i got a new one from black friday, and i want to use it in my 07 tc, but i have the stock unit.
I was wondering if the 08 stock units fit in 07 tcs, cause that would be cheaper than upgrading to the 07 pioneer ipod unit.
yea some people think the aux jack is enough, but for me, it aint. i want to control the unit from my steering wheel controls and see the title display on the unit.
so, if anyone could tell me what i could do, i appreaciate it

Yeah, the 08's should fit just fine. I haven't heard otherwise at least.
Another option would be to buy a used ipod stereo from someone here or on ebay. I sold my stock unit and the cables for like $100. There are some deals if you look around.
You can also get an after market stereo that will do everything you want as well, but that might be spending more than you want. You can get something base for about $150-$200. What's your price range?

The 08 radios will fit but not work properly. You will not have the full use of the radio and all of it's functions. I believe the only way to do it is my modifing the harness and wiring. You would be better off looking for one for the 07 or go af.
alright, thanks for the insight guys. the 08 units dont work on 07's correct?
so where can i get a cheap 07 upgraded unit?
i checked on ebay, there are none, the dealer is mad pricey and scionlife has none also

alright did some more research
cant find any cheap used or new 07 upgrade scion units with the ipod integration
a new one costs $500, but a new Pioneer AVIC D3 costs $600
so wth?
also according to the thread below, 08 units work with 05 tc's, and also 07 tc's
but no one knows about the steering wheel controls though
as far as i know, the cables are all the same for all the scion units
