Default Trunk Dimensions

does anyone have max trunk dimensions of the tc? ive tried to go out and take measurements but it seems everytime i do, i come up with something different, just too many little curves and what not back there for me to handle i guess lol. but if someone has a box that takes up the entire trunk, and i mean entire every inch used, then can you post dimensions of that box for me (pic as well if you got it)? im looking to do 2 15's sealed but might have to settle for 1 15 sealed/ported depending on dimensions i got to work with.

thanks in advance

umm I dont understand why you cant measure the dimensions yourself. If you plan on building something that will fit in there you must know how to measure. What I would do is take a piece of paper and make a rough sketch of the trunk then measure all the dimensions and write them next to the corresponding spot on your drawing. Make sure if a wall is sloped to measure a spot on the bottom of the wall and on the top. I built a box for my trunk that is a perfect fit but it isn't the whole trunk like you want. Its not that hard to measure the dimensions give it another try.

well your question is kinda complicated...

heres the thing... you can a much more air space if you were to make it out of fiberglass... but from how your sounding... it seems you are going the MDF route...

Keep in mind, unless your going to build the enclosure in the trunk you might run into problems getting it in the car once its together I was about to start a 42" wide one piece box and after measuring the hatch opening found that I probably would not be able to get it in the car.

You can fit a 40" wide box in there.

Test and tried.

On another note I fit a 36"x80" in the back with the back seats folded down....

Thats one big enclosure I'm referring to a more practical application and his request for using the entire cargo area, which I assume he means from one side to the other and from the back seats to the sill.

My original plan was 42" wide, 13.5 high, 16 deep. I think the opening is only 40" maybe. I cut a dowel 42" wide and tried putting it in place in a manner that would simulate putting a box in and it just wont happen. Might do it through the doors and then back but not practical. I ended up going 38" wide and slightly deeper.

17" tall yeah but 20" deep will not fit, 17" deep will fit with a squeeze.
