Default JaxtCRacer's Competition Audio Build (COMPLETED W/ VIDEO!!!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKtbXSp3_3g
^ VIDEO IS UP HIGHLIGHTING THE SYSTEM!!! ^

Hey guys, I haven't been around the ICE forums much until now (Been spending most of my time in the F/I area )

I figured it was time to broaden my car's appeal and spend money on something other than performance. So I came to the conclusion that, being a songwriter/music producer/audiophile, I would build a ridiculous system. Here's what it's going to look like in terms of parts:

Up Front:
CDT Gold ES-6 6.5" Midrange Drivers (going in stock location... may have a custom enclosure fabricated)
CDT Gold ES-010 1.2" Tweeters (going in kickpanels)
CDT 560i Crossovers
Elemental Designs NINe.2x Amp

-No rear speakers (keeping the sound stage in the front)

In the Hatch:
Audiopulse Revo 15 Subwoofer
Elemental Designs NINe.1 Amp
Custom enclosure for the sub and amp

I'll be going with SecondSkin for sound deadening; I think I'm going to deaden the front doors, the back of the hatch, and the middle of the car where my exhaust runs underneath.

I can't wait to get this system operational. Right now my components are sitting in my room; I'm waiting for the sound deadening and the sub setup to arrive before I install. Hopefully, everything will be finished by mid-June. I couldn't wait that long to make this thread haha

If anyone has any practical experience with these items, by all means share

I'll post pics of the stuff I currently have in the next couple days. Until then, let me know what you think of the build!

Looks good, I would go with a different amp setup than that but that's just me though.

I'm planning the same thing also with some wicket front stage SQ, I have CD1Pro HLCD that will go under the dash and I have Dayton RS180s in the door right now for midbass duty, probably gonna change that this summer to DynAudio MW180. Gonna get the ZAPCO DC1000.4 soon, when the ZAPCO dealer calls me to do the buy....cant wait to get that amp so I can run active front stage.

nice man! and yeah my amp choice was based on performance vs. cost. there are certainly better amps out there, but the eDs have proven themselves again and again and also are not as commanding of a high price tag as other high quality, name-brand offerings.

he's getting his amps dirt cheap (very nicely used) thanks to my car undergoing a complete renovation very shortly, so price vs. performance was pretty unbeatable.

exactly. i can't justify spending $$$$$$$$ more on another amp (or even a brand new eD for that matter) that won't be ENORMOUSLY better. as it is, my build is costing me a pretty penny

btw mike at exige audio has been awesome in the selection process. he was thoroughly helpful when i discussed what i was trying to get out of my system. he's very knowledgeable; i highly recommend you shoot him a PM if you have any questions about car audio or are looking for a customer service oriented dealer. thanks again for all the help mike! i'm really looking forward to how this turns out

yeah, if anything it would be SQ not SPL... it's not competition ready right now (i'd need to do more sound deadening, tuning, etc.) but the quality of the parts is at that level
