I'm kind of wondering which W3v3s you got, the 2 ohm, 4 ohm, or 8 ohm version. And what kind of power does your amp pushes at whatever ohms your subs are wired to, because it's either 0.67 ohms, 1.33 ohms, or 2.66 ohms. I friggin hate these non whole number ohm loads and finding an amp that does 900Watts at those ohm loads is kind of tough.
Why is it so important that the amp be 900 Watts? Most mono block amps on the market are optimized for 2 ohm operation so you should have absolutely no problems finding an amp to power three 10W3v3-8 drivers. JL Audio offers 5 that will do the job:

I'd like to read why you think a SVC is better than DVC. A DVC is simply a SVC split, but I like to read people's stories about what is true for them.
so true so true.... all DVC does for you is give you different wiring options... amazing how A LOT of people think "DVC's hit harder cause there's more voice coil to accept the power"... or "DVC's handle more power cause they generally have a bigger magnet"....

According to your website, the 10w3v3's "optimum" recomended RMS is 300 Watts. So I figure the optimun RMS for 3 subs is 900 Watts. I understand the subs can run with more or less power, but I want the subs to run at it's best, so that's why 900 Watts is important to me.

This amp does 320 watts @ 4ohms, and 500 watts @ 2 ohm. Using the three 10W3-8 subs, we can wire this to 2.66 ohms. So 2.66 ohms gotta be in between 320 watts and 500 watts, closer to 500 Watts. So maybe 450 watts? That's only giving the subs about 150 watts each, which is half of what is "optimum".

This one is good actually. But again, with a 2.66 ohm load, all I can do is guess how much power is being fed. With the amp pushing 640 watts at 4ohms and 1000 watts at 2 ohms, 2.66 ohms should be around 900 watts, but may be more or less.

This one will only run 250 Watts. So it's a little weak for the three subs.

Same as above only with 500 Watts.

1000 watts. This one is good but overpowering a little.

Don't get me wrong, I love JL, I have a pair of 12W6 subs in my other car for almost 10 years now, and it's because of those I want JL subs in the Scion and won't consider any other brand. But I also ran into this problem with those subs, with them being dual 6 ohm woofers. I considered the 500/1 amp, but thought it would be underpowering my subs and went with a Phoenix Gold X600.1 instead. And since you work for JL, I want you to explain what exactly "Optimum RMS ratings" mean and how important they are. I always thought it was important, but by your post, it seems like it's not that important. If it is important, then I stand by my choice of wanting an amp that does a specific power. If it's not important, then that just opens a whole ____load of options for me.

==>Sorry for hijacking this thread, but it's not very often you can "speak" to a JL rep and ask questions.

Cool subs, and cool amp, for sure. I bet that bumps like hell.

However, the box and setup looks pretty generic to me in my humble opinion. Please don't take offense, I'm not trying to dog on you whatsoever. Just responding to the "that's clean" remark.

By the way, who's the girl in the first picture in the passenger side bumper reflection? :D

No offense taken, money doesnt come that easy. I wanted a box with glass along the top so you could see the subs and also have some lights inside the box that would shine on the speakers when you open up the trunk and have my amp mounted some cool way, but all that would cost about 1,500 dollars or more, Id rather save up a lil more and boost my car, which is what Im trying to do. So the looks of the box wasnt that important to me. The sound was.

And the girl, HAHA, none ya business.

i like the setup. u cant really do much on a wooden box unless u go fiberglass. especially for a ported 3 pack like this one. the box has to be way big for the ports and have enough space for the 3 subs. i love the speakers. im thinking about going with 3 10w3v3 for my 1000/1 slash amp or just one 13w7. not sure which way im leaning towards.

my theory its the sis or friend that he likes but she doesnt know yet. j/k
sweet ride
