Is that the AVX706? I just got the same exact one and I'm waiting for it to come in the mail. I was hoping that since its not a touchscreen that closing the radio cover wouldn't be an issue. I guess I was wrong.

just ordered a double din lcd off of ebay (car pc version 2!!!!) anyway, don't you have to drill new holes to set the unit back a bit... the other thought would be to shave down the little rubber thingys on the cover?

Was it a pretty easy install? As in, just like an aftermarket HU using the factory wiring harness and what not or did you have to run seperate wires?

Yeah but u have a adapter so u either have 2 soder or use crimps...so it takes a while but its relatively easy just remember to attach the parking prak wire to the ground wire so that u can play it whole ur driving or when the ebrakes not on

So you just have one of the Aftermarket HU Wire adapters so you can wire the Stock Harness to the new HU Harness. Such as this below..

and you did say that it came with the spacer to fill in the gaps?

yeah theres spacers but if u have a tc u have 2 drill new holes so it might b a bit time consuming im doing that this weekend along wit puting in an xbox and ps2 and the motorized tCover...theres no glare usually because of the cover gives it a lil bit of shade

The Electronica stations on XM are slightly better , that's all. Ive had both and the display for Sirius on JVCs with 2 line displays is the best out there. To get a good XM display get the Pioneer and be done with it. Yeah it cost more, but if you want to keep your XM get that or the Jensen.

well its been explained that drilling the mounting holes like 5mm farther back allows the cover to close. Not very hard. And even regular, cd-player style HU's sometimes need to be drilled farther back since those might not allow cover to close.

most likely... I had my Eclispe installed at an audio shop and asked them to put in a switch for the parking brake wire. They said it wasnt a problem and didnt even charge me more. It was simply part of making it a clean install.

^^^^ Ahh, we meet again Orange County number 2!

I agree, do it right the first time. If you think about it, it's MORE expensive to do it wrong.
