Default ? on Kenwood...

I'm planning on getting this sub kit for the tC, but I don't know if this will work with my OE system and if this will fit under the cargo compartment using the 12" 2X under storage sub box?

Has anyone here on SL tried them? How's the bass and quality on them?

I really need your feedbacks on this since I need more bass in the tC, thanks!

I actually found them at a base exchange and they are $139 on sale. I checked them out and they seem to be pretty hefty to me, It needs a bigger amp though... (Is it true that the heavier a sub the better???)

Is it possible for me to install this even if I don't have a new HU yet? (I'm on stock 07's) How and where can I tap the signal for the amp?

Thanks! (I'll get it tomorrow if they still have em...)

Why do you think they'd need a bigger amp? They'd be getting 100w each (2x 8Ohm in parallel, with the amp bridged into 4Ohms for 200w total), which would give you a HUGE amount of shaking in the tC.

Yes, you can use the stock HU with that setup. The amp has high-level inputs, so you could easily connect your stock rear speaker wiring for the amp's input signal.

you wouldn't shake the tC at all with that setup. it'll give you a bit of more low bass but nothing to write home about

I know... That's why it needs a bigger amp... Each sub takes up to 900W MAX and the amp is underpowered...

Don't worry about max power. Look at the RMS rating.

I've owned a variety of Kenwood headunits, amps, speakers, and subs in the past and have been disappointed sooooo many times. Just like Nebster says "honestly... POS"

What would you guys recommend me to get?

I'm starting with sneaky 2x 10-12" subs and an amp, then work my way up to loudspeakers on the front and crossovers for the rear (loudspeakers if possible) and a nice GPS/DVD HU.

Give me tips on what to get. I want one that has a smooth delivery of highs and a good kick on mids and highs...

Thanks!

I found a 6.5" Polk Audio loudspeaker set at Fry's and it sounds pretty nice when I played Jesus of Suburbia by Green Day, so I'm considering it as a candidate.

Hmm...well, I guess "shake" must mean different things to different peeps. I get plenty of shaking with just a single small sealed 10" and 120w amp, so it's hard for me to imagine that 2x 12" and 200w "wouldn't shake the tC at all", as you put it.
