Can I take a male/male connector and go between the audio jack on my laptop to the aux input in the center armrest and play music through the stereo?

 

oh f yeah.. just buy one.. you want a mini male stereo to a mini male stero patch cord.. rat shack... or if you buy a toshiba LCD, they come w/ one! i keife them when i do install's so i ahve a couple.. he he

 

Why not just burn mp3 cd's? Easier and you don't have to worry about power for the laptop or securing the laptop while you drive.

 

Because burning 85 gig will take more then 85 cd's. It'll take almost 18 dvd's. hehehe

 

I have like 30 gb's of music and another 30 or so of movies on the laptop and i didn't feel like hauling that many cd's around with me.

got everything working great, the box is mounted up under the glove compartment. Looks great, and works perfectly :D

besides, i'll just make a carputer with a 200gig removable harddrive

 

I know an ipod would've been easier, but i would rather spend 29 dollars shipped on the inverter and like 2 hours of my time installing it than several hundred on a large storage space ipod.

 

This may be a "no brainer" but also remember to get a high quality patch cable. If not you will get engine noise out of that aux input. That high whinny noise will drive you crazy and gets louder as you step on the gas.

i have an ipod.. love it.. simple, compact, and mega storage for mps's.. i dont wanna lug around a laptop.. my ipod suits my needs..
