led fix?
hey guys i need your help!
i have my leds all done in my interior - white and blue. (guages, doors, wheels, and hvac.) my problem is that the bottom row of the hvac (a/c and recirculate and outside temp) under the temp **** goes in and out randomly. the only way to fix this (temporarily) is to push in and apply pressure on the dash directly under and to the left of the ****. it comes back on the eventually cuts back out. and then cycle continues. i have a feeling that led or part of the board has a loose contact. the guy who did my work is no longer doing this work, and i lost contact with him. can anyone help me out with the repair or walk me through a fix? im not a soldering wizard, actually quite the opposite. but i am a perfectionist when it comes to my car, and its killing me seeing this every night. has anyone had this same issue? know of a fix? please help?!?!?!?!

Sounds like theres a cold solder joint somewhere in there. Essentially, its broke but makes intermittent contact.
You need to take the board out of the HVAC, plug it back in, key on to light them up, and using a pick tool (careful not to short across traces) lightly pry up on each led until you find the one that easily goes out.
Re-solder that one and youre good.

exactly how do i get the board out of the fron part? i can see the backside of the board, took the screws out, but it wont come out? im scared to put too much pressure on it. im not a soldering guru, how easy is it for me to f up? how hard would it be to send it out and have repaired? anyonw know where to send it?
