really like?

the only thing that comes to mind near the vicinity of the type R is maybe a W6, and that is more than twice the price that I got my type Rs for!

most likely you heard a faulty install, or an incompetent shop. Dollar for dollar, I havent heard anything to compare in the price range, granted type Rs are a bit power hungry
perfect example is the sub i am using right now, the Dayton HO. $115 shipped from partsexpress.com. it will totally destroy a Hype-R when it comes to SQ. they need a much smaller box, will take the same power, but won't even need rated power to get loud.

others that are better for about the same price(were talking ebay pricing BTW, so about $120 shipped)

CSS SDX10

Ascendant Audio Assassin series

Elemental Designs KV series

i'm sure i'll think of more.

but my point is, the type-r is not the end all of subs.

yup, they were an over-hyped woofer that CAN get loud but has no chance of sounding very good. i will once again say you can get much better for less money, for $120 shipped there is still much better out there.

curious. where are you getting these price quotes from? alpine? BB? you have to be joking that you are going to buy a woofer from Ripp Buy
thats retail. i was asking because i also paid retail for my Dayton sub, and retail was 115 including shipping.

i also stated that a type r can be had brand new on ebay for about 120 shipped.

Right, but for another $5, id much rather have peace of mind with warranty from my local AUTHORIZED dealer. you dont get that from flee bay
ehhh screw warranties. if i can find something for less w/o a warranty i'll still buy it. the item will either work when you get it or not. and if it breaks later on down the line, it was most likely from operator error. if not, the manufacturer will try to find a way out of not warrantying the item anyway. so screw warranties.

BTW, i have never once had to file a warranty claim on anything.

Excellent Determination based on what again? Your lack of resourceful information does nothing but further stress your incompetence

Dismissed until further notice
it is common knowledge of anybody who REALLY knows car audio.

nope, i have never in my life once had to use a warranty. i am only 23 but still, i just don't believe in paying extra for something you'll most likely never need. and even if you do need they will try to find a way out.

then please I beg you to show me how much you *really know about car audio* with Formal documentation of expertise from a reputable institution

or do you also satisfy the aforementioned qualification of having a small *****, while lying about a large one, or being in *car audio since I was 1 yo"?
my ***** is fine. and i don't have any document showing my audio skills. i do have plenty of experience with both home and car audio though. i'll take real life experience over any certification any day.

i hate to say this and if the person i am reffering to reads this i don't mean this in a mean way t all. but a buddy of mine is MECP certified and still had me tune his stereo for him.
