Looking for advice on amplifier
My friend ordered a couple 13Ov.2 D4 's from eD recently, and he told me he'll pop one in my system to upgrade it from my current kicker Comp12 (it says 4 ohm on the box, whatever that means). I have been looking for an amp for a set of components that i'm looking at buying.
I did not install the Comp12...it was done for me. I assume I can keep the wiring and just replace the sub/amps? I ended up not liking the amplifier at all.
I saw the NiNe.5 on clearance and it looks like a nice buy, but i want to verify some things before i purchase it...
I'd rather have one amp in my car than two smaller amps, but its not that big of a deal
The NiNe.5 would be underpowering one 13Ov.2D4 right? I'm basically new at car audio, but i searched around and what i seemed to have understood is that a dual4 hooks up to 2ohm from the amp. The 13Ov.2 is rated at 600RMS, and the NiNe.5 only outputs 450. Is this a good idea? or do i have better options out there than the NiNe.5?
And any recommendations on components?

wow there are many many 1200ish rms amps @ 1ohm.
You can do the nine.1. I have one and was very surprised.
Others include Crossfire BMF,JBL 1200,Directed 1100d. There are many and will range in price from about 200-350 used.
Its really up to how much money you have and how much room you wanna give up
give us a budget

okay so i decided to opt out on the NiNe.5 and get two different amps. I think 450RMS on the NiNe.5 would have less room to work with.
Because i would have a Dual4 in my car, and i'm probably only going to have one sub, my friend says go with a mono amp...
both the pdx 1.600 and the nine.1 look good...im only looking at using 600W.
For the car wiring...i can just keep the old wires right? or do i need to get new ones because the new amp will be drawing much more power

NINe.5 is a great amp but not sure it is the right amp for that sub........maybe NINe.1 for sub and another amp for the fronts woudl be better.......although I hooked up a 600w sub to my NINe.5 and retuned it for full power and it hit really hard and pushed the sub just fine.........NINe.5 needs 0/1 power ground wire as well........and it is really big and hard to place well in the car........
