Default looking for an amp

alright, i'm not very smart when it comes to sterio equipment. the only thing i know how to do is hook them up, turn them on, and adjust them to the way i like it to sound.

now i'm looking to put something small and simple in my car. just enough to add a little bit of bass to my music. i want to get a kicker 8" L7 square. i need to know what size amp i would need to power it.

obviously i'm not trying to out pound every car on the road. i listen to mostly heavy music so i just want something to bring out the bass in the music. i do however listen to very little rap. so i also want to be able to turn the bass up a little when i'm trying to enjoy rap a little.

i don't need info on what brand of amp i should get i just want to know how many watts i need. i don't want to ask the guy at the shop i'm getting it at because i know they will try to talk me into an amp that is more then what i need just so i will spend more money.

any help is appreciated. thanks.

If you're getting the dual 2 ohm sub, get an amp that will do 500x1@ either 1 or 4 ohm

If you're getting the dual 4ohm sub, get an amp that will do 500x1@ 2ohm...

If I were you, I'd get the dual 2ohm and find a 500x1@1ohm amp
