looking for amp advice
I finally got my 'glass box sorted out and after flattening the response, it isn't sensitive enough fo rmy tiny amp.
I've got an Alpine Type-R 12" DVC (4 ohm each) in a sealed box.
What's th cost effective way to power that?
I've shopped a while and I'm leaning towards Alpine's own
600W rms @2ohmX1 class D amp for $300 at Crutchfield.
Is there a cheaper or better way to power that sub well?
My bros like Fosgate, but the 500@2X1 is like $500 or $600

What kind of amp are you currently running? I trust alpine's power rating over kenwood. I run a PDX 1000w amp on my single 12". I don't know about the V power amps, but the PDX amps put out more than the rated RMS power. Either way, all of the alpine amps and the kenwood posted above are CEA compliant, so it's a start. Your sub is rated at 500w RMS and you want to give it at LEAST a 500w RMS amp. I usually try to over power my subs. it's more common for a speaker to blow from dirty power (clipped) than from giving it too much clean power.
