Default Making the tC really loud?

OK, how loud of a system can I make if I only have a thousand two hundred bucks for speakers, subs amps and install accesories?

And also what kind of GPS nav with DVD player, etc. can take on a loud system for the tC? excluded in price

Also how many SWs can I fit without compromising trunk space, removing the spare, blowing glass and how far away can the sound reach?

Thanks.

pretty loud

you wont get many in there without compromising drunk space unless you do sq10's and then you wont get a ton of output. basically if you wanna play with the big boys you need to get some big woofers. i have 2 16ov.2's (15" subs) and u can hear my ____ from blocks away but i would never play it that loud, just draws attention.

you could get the subs / amp / wiring for just under 1200

the HU is gona take most of your budget... with a loud stereo your gona need sound deadener too...

what i spent
hu = $750
deadener = $300
amps = $800
subs = $400
front speakers = $300
extras = $150
install = myself

total = $2700ish, i rounded my numbers. i paid well below retail for everything working at best buy + www.millionbuy.com = great savings...

and my stereo is in the 140-150db range but i only play it that loud when tuning and shows..

the question you ask "how far will the sound go" is the reason people with loud stereos get bad wraps, if you do go big, PLEASE do it responsibly. you dont need it up all the way going down a residential road, EVER and if you bump your way into a parking lot expect not to have it there when you come out...

if you do go big, an alarm would prolly be a good add on also, thats another $300 added to my cost... viper 791xv, prolly cost you around $800 retail+ install.

^^^ the price I mentioned are for speakers amp and subs only... (NO HU, wood and carpet covering...)

I need the trunk space because I sometimes sleep in the tC when I am too drunk to go home and needed to recline the rear seats to make it a bed. LOL!

And is there an alarm that zaps people like static??? (I LIKE THAT!)

Can 4 10" ED SWs fit with the custom mounts?

Also, what about the vocals, I really like the sound of the treble and guitars loud too... What speakers do I need for that job?

Thanks, I'll be installing these for fun and just make my tC a parking lot party machine...

BTW: which E-dead is better, Sheets or brush on? What areas do I need to E-dead and also how much weight gain should I expect from a loud system with E-dead?

to hear the vocals and other highs...you need small tweeters installed near the front of the car...wherever your imagination will allow

How can I separate the bass guitar tones from drum bass?

Also where can I get a db meter without buying a Nokia 3250 phone?

Ok there are lots of things wrong with the question you're asking. You don't know what the hell you want and there are lots of ways to make anything loud it doesn't mean it's pretty though. I can tell you from my experience with the car (and this is just me) that if you're trying to go completely stealth, loud, and not have to do a lot of modifications then you're better off saving your money.

To fit subwoofers in the car and get high SPL you're going to loose space somewhere. You need to figure out where you can afford to loose the space. You also need to be specific as to what you're willing to do to your car. Are you willing to try fiberglassing? Cut wholes? Remove parts?

My current plan for my car is to run Rainbow Audio 3-ways in the front. It will use the drivers from the SLC 265 Kick component set and the mid range driver and crossovers from the 365 Profi set. No rear fill. For subwoofers I'll only be running 1 or 2 12" subs, probably Fi Qs. The 3-ways will be installed with the midbass in the stock door location, mids in the dash, and the tweeters in the apillars.

The thought process that went into determining that system and how everything will be set up is what you need to think about right now. You're just screaming "Someone take my money!" right now and that doesn't mean you'll end up with a nice system.

I could only do the 6 speaker setup using 2 and 3way component speakers and just make (or buy) a SW enclosure to fit on the sides to accomodate 2 12s or 4 10s... and make new covers with carpet that match the OEM carpet...

Also how can I separate low tones that the SWs make? And will the aftermarket tweeters sound harsh to the ears?

THANKS!

That I couldn't tell you yet. I had 2 Dual 12s before firing backward and it sounded good but it was too big of a box. Subwoofer's output is omnidirectional though, it shouldn't really matter which way it's "aimed". The important thing to consider is making sure that it blends seamlessly, you shouldn't be able to figure out where the sub is installed if it's done properly.

OK, I'm going to explain this to you but you deserve to be smacked for it. Do some reading and most of your questions will be answered fairly quickly. The lows are separated on the Head Unit (assuming you're using an aftermarket unit). There are generally 3 sets of pre-outs on the HU, 1 set for the front speakers, 1 for the speakers, and 1 for the subs.

Since you haven't familiarized yourself with car audio yet, stick to a 2-way component set. If you want loud don't buy rear speakers, most SPL competitors don't use them. Get a set of component speakers with good power handling and a nice amp for them.

Tweeters, just like all speakers, are personal preference. You need to listen to a few sets to determine what you like. Do some research and you'll find what the difference is between them. There are generally 3 different types of tweeters silk, aluminum, and titanium. Look em up.

I'm also going to add that I'm no car audio expert I just read a lot. It's nothing anyone else couldn't do and you shouldn't take my word as gospel.

LMAO. That's bigger than my last box. I like it though.

I want to downsize now... :-( I dunno, I like the output of a big system, but you can't get that with something small. Well you can in theory, small woofer, small enclosure, but big amp...
I change my audio system like I change _______ .

If I can do 140s with a 10" sub and a 500 watt amp and a box no larger than a 1/4 of the trunk I would be all about it but there is no such thing....

for now until i can build/buy a new box i was just going to use the one that was downfiring in my truck w/ 2-8s cuz it was specificially made by an audio place to be downfiring, thats y i was curious.
