Making the tC really loud?
up fired at the hatch will sound best (assuming you deaden your hatch) most hatch backs sound best up fired....
i have 5 layers of dynamat extreme on my hatch and it still rattles, just a tip if you really do want it loud.

1 ten ported (tuned to 33hz) with 750 watts rms got me to 134.1 db's at the dash. but it's kind of a big box. i aimed it up by the way. i positioned it pointing back one night just to try, it felt like it hit a hair harder but the SQ went away for some reason and things rattled more. i since have pointed it straight up once again.
im just going for soundquality because im not into the spl anymore. i'd rather have clarity w/ bass than extreme loudness.( im already partially deaf from drumming for 16 years). i forgot about dynamating. thanks for the reminder
What is the best wattage of a component speaker sytem to be installed in the tC? Also what size is the best for the rears?
I like the system to be loud and clear, not loud and crappy...

Are those DLS speakers worth the money or are there something better?
Can you please give me a list of popular setups for the tC? (I can only see the SWs they use and the amps doesnt have a brand on top on thos pics).
Thanks

There is no such thing as a popular setup for the tC. If you have to ask if DLS is worth the money then you probably don't need them. Go to Best Buy and get some Sony Xplods or something and see how you like it.
You can be loud, and sound good, without taking up much space, but it takes a little thought.
Here is my setup from the link posted on the other page...

I have 3 amps, front components, rear coaxials, and 4 10" subwoofers, heres the list
amps:
Soundstream Rubicon 302 ( powering rears @ 75 RMS)
Soundstream Rubicon 502 ( powering front @ 100 RMS)
Soundstream Rubicon 1002 ( powering subs @ 1000 RMS)
Speakers:
Elemental Designs 6500s ( fronts)
Elemental Designs 6000s ( rears)
Subwoofers:
Elemental Designs SQ10 (x4)
If you are looking for SQ, and you don't want to take up a lot of space, I would HIGHLY recommend the SQ10 subwoofer. Also another good bang for the buck are the 6500s componets speakers, great sound for a great price.
The amps I selected are old ( about a decade old) but are known for their ledgendary quality and sound, and I couldn't be happier with them. Any quality amps ( not boss, or legacy PLEASE) will do you just fine.

so here is the situation, the head unit you can pick but for sound leave your stock speakers in and go with a Hifonics Brutus BXi1206D (about 100-125 shipped) then you put an audiobahn aw1008t ( also like 100) plus your wiring and cap (another 100) and you are guaranteed to hit 140db. I know I watched it happen. So for 300 bucks you've got yourself a bangin' system then you throw out 550 for a jvc double din dvd and your good to go! Then put the remaining 350 in your pocket!

not doing 40s with a hifonics amp. Not doing 40s with a USAmps amp. Not doing 40s with Soundstream amp. Not doing 40s with Stetsom amp. And definitely not doing 40s with a crappy audiobahn 10" sub.
You forgot one thing though, a box. The enclosure means everything.
But then again roughly 1000watts from that hifonics amp and a 10" audiobahn sub, you're not doing 40s anyways....
