So I am not happy with our Map Lights. A map light shouldn't be bright and in your face and light up the entire car, it should light up the passenger' s lap and not hurt your eyes.

Is there some sort of like, Dixie Cup with a hole on it taped to the light thing i can create to make it a more direct beam?

A lot of people have replaced those lights with LED bulbs... from a place like superbrightLEDs.com I think. They might be 194 bulbs. I don't remember...

Well I'm not sure about "direct" since I don't have them in mine, but I've seen a few pics and it's certainly brighter than what is there...

 

the piece of plastic over the map lights is going to make the light scatter regardless if you are using an LED or a bulb. The LED map which are 194bulbs are significantly brighter than the stock bulbs.

 

i dont find them blinding at all possibly because i have to sit low and far back due to my height. but i have super white leds in and they are certainly much brighter. look through the 194 wedge bulbs on superbrightleds.com and find some 25 degree bulbs. that is more of a spotlight effect.
