thanks men.
l got the pc from logic supply. http://www.logicsupply.com. got it with the specs on the first page.
The software is free from http://www.mp3car.com. its the Road runner software. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=72.
The hardest part of the software installation was the customizing the skin to what it is right now. Road runner provides lots of skins for the front end so if you dont feel live changing how the front end looks you can use those.

there are so many other frontend software you can use from mp3car but roadrunner seems to be the most straightforward and easiest to customize.

If i get some time, I'll come up with a how to. but go to mp3car, its all there

i dont have those yet. But for fm radio, you can buy the usb dlink radio which integrates will with road runner.

As for xm, i think there is a usb receiver you can get. I dont know what the process of that is but once i get install those, i'll get some info from mp3car. Most people on that site have done it

I was just looking for a how to on fabbing. The PC part is easy for me hehe. It is just the install (messing interior parts up) I'm worried about.

You said your resolution was 848x480. How did you acheive that resolution? Did you need to update your BIOS. I've been reading on mp3car for several months and it seemed that with the sp13000 they could never get the screen running at the native resolution which is 800x480. Its like a constant battle with those guys.

nah you dont need to do a bios upgrade. i did mine and regreted it cause it seemed it slow ed the start up time a bit.
here is how to change it
on the desktop, right click and select properties to go to the system settings.
On the settings tab, click the advanced button.
when the module comes up, select the adapter tab
there should be a "List all modes" button. click that.
this should have all the resolutions that you need including the 848x480. and you can select the one with 60hertz. i tried the others and it didnt make any difference.

let me know if that works for you

i have a cd receiver at the back of the screen which is connected to my car speakers. I then have an aux input coming from my pc jack connected to the cd receiver. the quality of the music is great, even better than cd.

I know people with carpcs have hooked up a sirius unit to play directly from the carpc. I dont know what the connection set up is but this is definitely doeable.
