My new sub setup, 56k have patience
So..I got tired of my old setup, box was WAY too big and I didn't really like all the massive booming bass drowning out the songs so...I set about making my own EQ stealth style sub box.
All these pics were taken today, but the work was done over a span of three days:
Sigh.....
Took out the foam
My old box (after I used it to cut a ring)
Applying "pressure" after gluing and whatnot
First two pieces that were made, wrong size
The box
Completion
My whole car is pretty messy, and that crack isn't making my life any easier soo...yea
The sub is a 12"...
I'm overall very happy with the result as I get my trunk space back now, first time doin somethin like this so its not perfect but, good enough I think.

I had circuit city install my stuff originally (fail...i kno) They mounted it there, I would've mounted the amp on the spare but the wires were too short for me to move the the amp so...

I think you did a nice job! I'm in all likelihood going to do something very similar. I have a 10" Rockford power t1 out of my celica i'm dying to install.
Question actually -
with the ring making your box taller, what kind of depth do you have for your sub?
It's either do what you did or build/buy something that goes on the side kind of like the bazooka sub. Thanks in advance!

Umm, I think my sub was like 5 1/2 inches deep, with the ring it left some space, enough so that its not hitting the bottom or anything.
With a 10" it should be much easier to make your own box. But if you'd prefer something far more simpler to install, I would suggest getting a bazooka sub.
