The sub is wired:

Amp + -->Coil 1 + ---> Coil 1 - -->Coil 2 + --> Coil 2 - --> Amp -

Thats fine, but what impedance are the individual coils? Dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm? And did you reground it?

OK we got everything wired up. Turns out it wasn't the ground; the terminals inside the box were touching the backplate of the sub, causing a short. I would have never noticed if we hadn't pulled out the sub to make sure the voice coils were wired in series. That's when i noticed the scratches on the backplate of the sub. Anyways, everything's cool now. Thanks for the help guys!
