any recommendations on gps/navigations, or all in one systems that can be mounted externally or in the dash? anything thats "affordable"....i mean, i guess if i wanted to shell out $3000, i would get the "Stargate Mobile"....but any recs would help. THANKS!

well, you can try the dell Axim 51v PDA with navigation. it cost around 600. i got one and its quite good. also, it has other uses besides navigation. i would recommend it if you are not a hardcore gps user.

by typing "tC and Navigation and eclipse and pioneer", you'll get many more threads to peruse. (btw, typing the "and"s limits the search quite a bit.)

There are also threads about the eclipse 5495 but the cost may be prohibitive on that model.

I was all about the Eclipse Navigation systems until I found this Pioneer AVIC-Z1. It is amazing.

I have one in my tC...have yet to take pics. Install wasn't incredibly hard...but tough if you've never installed a nav system before. I was overwealmed with the amount of wires involved, but eventually got it done. I got the Z1 with the XM/Navtraffic adapter, iPod adapter, Bluetooth adapter, a PAC box for steering wheel controls, and a bypass so I can do things while moving. Took about a weekend to install, but its VERY clean. Anyway, if I can ever find a camera, I'll take some pics.

does the pioneer fit into the dash of the tc...cause online, you can check if the unit "fits" your car before you buy one, and it said the tc won't be able to.....
