Default Need help with dash

Hey all,

I just got a Alpine deck for my 06 tC and was wondering how in the world do you take the dash apart. I did a bunch of searches to try to find a thread or a DIY but had no luck. How exactly do you take the dash apart to get the new deck in. Also does anyone know what I would need to do to my alpine deck (CDA-9851) to get my steering wheel controls to work?

thats a TON of reading just for the answer to your question... start with the shift ****-unscrew and remove. once the shifter boot is out, you can start pulling up the center console panels.

Before this gets locked--SNK-let me know if you have any rattling issues with you CDA 9851. Mine rattles when i have the faceplate attached, take it off, and no (almost) more rattles.

PM me with any more CDA 9851 install questions, just did mine a few months ago.

Thanks for the help.....I wonder if this is the same for a automatic. My brother had this deck in his TC and I never noticed any noises.

Does anyone know about the issue with the steering wheel controls?

Also why in the world would this thread get locked???

From what I have seen they lock posts that have alot of previous conversations you could have searched for instead. The dash is relatively easy to take apart and if you have any wiring questions let me know. As far as getting the steering wheel controls to work with your alpine, you can use a PAC-Audio SWI-ALP I believe. Here is the link http://www.pac-audio.com
