Default need help removing the automatic shifter for led swap

ok i'm trying to replace the cubby light and shifter light. the cubby one seems kind of difficult to get to even with needle nose pliers. i grabbed it and tried twisting and pulling but it doesn wanna come out and im afraid if i apply any more force then it will crush the bulb in there. anybody can help me with that?

ok so i decided to move onto the shifter light. took apart the console and everything until only the face of the shifter remain. i tried popping it out but it seems to be on there pretty tight and i dont want to risk breaking a clip or anything. so any ideas? here are some pics.

for the cubby light just get up under the passangers foot well. Pull back the carpet on the left side (you will see a plastic tab that you need to take off). Next look inside and you will see the cubby light, just pull it out and swap the bulbs.

Cubby Hole can be changed 2 ways.
1. Take off the plastic piece that covers the HU and includes the Radio Cover (watch for AC Duct). Once you remove that, you will see the Cubby Hole wires. Pull the wire out and you can change your bulb.
2. The other way is the one mentioned earlier. On the Pass foot rest area, there is a plastic pin in the carpet pretty close to the Center Console you can pop out with a screwdriver. (If you stick your hand on the carpet ( ) then follow the edge, you'll find the pin.) After dis-lodging pin, reach around and you'll feel the Cubby Hole wires. Gently pull it out and you should be able to change your bulb from here. Push wire back into hole (after testing to make sure the light works.) And don't forget to put the pin back in.

I hope this helps.

OK, I just did this mod 2 days ago. The bulb is at the top, above the P (under the little plastic grey piece).

To remove the plastic face plate, down where you have the red circle drawn, you will pull out and up here, while pushing on the opposite side towards the driver. This will lift up a little. Then do the same to the top drivers side. It takes some pulling out and up (to get by the tabs). Kinda scary, but nothing broke.

The #74 LED I used wouldn't go in with the recepticle in place, so, I had to remove that, which is twist locked in. Easy to remove. Pull it out, insert LED and push back in and twist lock back in place. Asseble and enjoy the blue mod. Looks cool.

Oh yea, it will be easier to remove the shift ****.

Where does everyone order their bulbs from? Ive been looking to upgrade a few things in my interior but I keep pushing it aside because bulbs are so tiny and I hate waiting for packages....
