Default New AVH-P4000DVD, Anyone Installed It?

I've been looking for a DVD player for my dash, one without GPS (I already have a GPS unit and a phone with same service on it). Been looking around for relatively inexpensive dual-din unit to install and came across this at my Best Buy.

Anyone seen this installed? I'm curious if you can keep the waterfall cover that comes with the center console and have this unit installed? If it comes down to it, I suppose it'll look great flush with the dash, but thats a last resort.

Any reviews out there? I know its a new unit so...

Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD
BBY and Crutchfield have em on their sites now

I'm going to get this one when I get the money. Just need $378. Wanted to get one with GPS, but don't want to spend more than $600 and I don't want the AVIC D-3...everyone has them. The Crutchfield reviews are the only I've seen so far.

it's because they only carry the install kit for the single din units...the double din kit is just two side pieces to fill in the little gap on each side......

and YES you can keep the stock waterfall cover if you get the avh4000 and install it properly.

Crutchfield sells the headunit w/the install kit, and it's around the same price, probably just go w/that, that's good to know you can close the door w/it in, thanks man

On Mine - after install I had a one finger gap on each side but then bought this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...a+95-8202.html which filled the gaps out...

As for the door closing, It kept hitting the volume **** on the way down, so I took of the water fall and "dremmeled" out a section of the back of the door (that you can not see - and it now fits perfectly!

I will be posting pictures later - keep watching for it

Yeah, that's what I was talking about in my post above. Here's a pic of the part:

How is the layout of this DVD player? Pretty user friendly? More importantly, how is the video quality?

First things first - I installed my 4000 this weekend - I wanted to be able to have movies play while driving so I wired a toggle switch to the parking brake wire and then ground it. This allows me to flip a switch for the system to think the car is in park when in reality it is not. originally I tried tieing in the parking brake wire with the ground wires on the harness, but that does not work for this particular unit (some models do, but not the 4000) I mounted to switch in the underside of the cubby hole and is out of sight completely unless u look at it from under. I also wanted the door to be able to close, but it hit the volume ****, so I used a dremel tool to cut out a small section where it was hitting, and it is not even noticeable (unless obviously you take the waterfall out and look at it from behind) I also ran my iPod cable down and through the center into the empty cut out in the center console. Lastly, the stock (mounting) bracket was able to fit perfectly into the 4000, without any modification whatsoever - I bought the plastic black side pieces (http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...a+95-8202.html) for the side and those fit very well, the only thing you have to do is cut off one small section of it so it mounts flat and doesn't crack (it shows you how in the supplied instruction manual)

P.S. My HVAC unit has no buttons on it right now, because I am in process of an LED swap...

Here are some pictures:

.....Any questions or pictures of other things anyone needs, please feel free to ask - I'm more than willing to help out[/b]

Video Quality is actually pretty good when playing DVDs - It has a Brightness, Contrast, Hue, and Color adjustments that you can use to fine tune it too, which is pretty cool. As well as a dimmer button for when it's nighttime (it is pretty bright w/o )
