Well I was bored today, and Brittani got a new shifter **** for her tC yesterday. After I installed it we both thought it looked really goofy because of how long the rod is for the shifter. So I took the car down to the garage and went too work, I did some measuring, got a thread tap, and a hacksaw and went too work. Here are some before and after pics. I think I am going to take a trip to toyota tomorrow and possibly buy a shifter boot for it too.

Any shorter with the stock shifter **** and then you would run into issues with it not working correctly and getting caught up on the gate.

 

did you rethread it or just use the pinch pins on the **** to hold it on.........looks good.

 

Yeah I rethreaded the shaft so if for any reason the stock shift knobi is needed you can still use it.

 

That is awesome.........good job making it be able to go almost back to stock......would suck to give away a good shift know if sold.......my Sparco is gonna be in every car I own for a long time........LOL

 

It looks better than the stock height. But what does everybody see in that shiftknob? I think they look boring.

 

We got it only for the fact that I was at a car show with my cavalier and won 2nd place, so we got the shift **** and a set of nokya arctic white stage II H11's for the headlights. It was a 100 gift certificate.

 

IC. I just see alot of people with that style. Its way overplayed and it doesnt even look good.

 

I guess, thats your opinion on that and I can accept it. But on the same hand it's her car so it's her choice lol.

 

looks sick. i really wanna shorten mine on my m/t... anyone know if it'd work?? also, dumb question, can i find a tool for threading like yours just at any hardware store or from somewhere specific?
