Default New stealth box setup!

Well, finally got it all together and installed today.
I'm really happy with how it sounds...especially for being stealth.
The amp is rated at 200 x 2 RMS, but I've heard that ED amps are under rated.
I only have it at about 60% power, and it is more than I expected already, for shallow mount subs under the trunk floor.

Right now I have a couple makeshift spacers to hold the floor up a little, so the subs don't push against it.
I plan to put a couple speaker grills over them soon, then maybe cut out circles in the floor, so they'll be firing freely and still be protected.

Wish y'all could hear it, it really does sound good.

There is still some available space, wrapping closer around the spare tire...and the guy who installed it at a local shop said that he'd give me a good deal on making a completely new box.... not sure if I'm gonna do that yet.
If I were to, would anybody be interested in this box??

I'm totally happy with how it sounds so far, so there's no real need to do that, but I might get some crazy inspiration to waste money and take him up on his offer.

I've also included a couple pics of the stock enclosure, which is now available to the highest bidder.

Here is a somewhat cool remote level adjuster for the subs... yes, there's one built into the stereo, but I wanted immediate access instead of going through 2 or 3 levels of menus.
It's flat and different, which is kinda cool... but I really wanted a plain ol' ****, which the guy didn't have in stock at the time.

Hey thanks. No, I didn't make it...I bought from a guy on here.
It's fiberglass with MDF top.
Today I've toyed with some crossover levels, etc. and it sounds REALLY damn good in my car now
Can't wait to upgrade the component speakers next.

I'll sell it if I get enough money for it... I really have no idea how much they go for.
If it isn't worth it, I'll probably just keep it in the attic and sell it with the car whenever I get rid of it.... or something.

I need some helpful suggestions..............

The piece that I have the amp mounted on........ the amp's weight pulls it down (away from the back of the seat).
I used a couple velcro strips to keep it against the back of the seat, but it's a PITA... every time I want to fold down the seat, I need to deal with the velcro and eventually it is going to leave the fibers all pulled and worn looking.

Someone please suggest a way to keep that piece supported!!!

Cheap and Simple. This is the set up i have in my car. They're Metal mirror holders you can buy at any Ace Hardware or Home Depot. with the seat up, screw the holder into the back of the seat and have the edge of the mirror holder rest (hold up) on to the piece your amp is mounted to. Then when you want to put your seat down, your amp/mounting location, slides right out of the holder and your amp follows your seat down and lays down nicely.

Then after install... go back with a black Sharpie for a clean look

i know exactly what you mean. i ended up just making a little wall out of 1/4" mdf. i wrapped it in grill cloth.

here is a pic if you care to see. i can still fold the seats down but the amp rack/wall doesn't move.

looks good....
I'm gonna try out the mirror holder clip things today. I really want the amp to follow the seat when I put it down/up.

I installed the little mirror clip things and they work great.
Only one small thing bugs me... and maybe I can find a way around it...

The ones I got look just like the ones in the picture you posted. I just wish they were a little longer, so they could work for the full reclining range of the seat.

I have them screwed into the default upright seat position... which works, but in order to recline that seat, I'd have to unlatch the board that the amp is mounted on. (Which isn't really a problem because I rarely have people in the backseat.)

I'm gonna look around and see if I can find some different ones that are a bit longer, so maybe it will work for the full range of reclining.

Thanks again for the tip, scl0n!

It works awesome :D
I picked them up at a local crafts store. I'm sure if I went to Lowe's/Home Depot/etc, I could find longer ones that would allow a little flexibility with the seat reclining. But like I said, I hardly ever have rear passengers, so it's not a big deal at all.
