There is a reason why it doesn't come with one stock (exclusively the tc). "The Scion tC cannot be retrofitted with a Cabin Air Filter or Case Part Number due to cooling system operations"

mine blows hard (lol) just the same as it did before, no problems here!

 

i don't notice any difference in mine...

 

nor did i, its worth it to have it, when i drive by skunks i dont smell it as bad

 

mine works perfect still....plus, you would be shocked how much debris it catches each month.....gross stuff

 

but they offer it with a psi upgrade to the system. They offer it to me when i took it in one time.

How is the A/C system going to work harder? It restricts the airflow AFTER everything else, the A/C system never detects actual airflow in the vents, so it shouldn't effect anything.

If it has to do with having it work for a longer period of time to keep the car cool, then does having an open window void the warranty also?

 

This is not only ancient news (brought up about a million times, even in the DIY cabin filter thread), it does not put significant strain on the system, especially using the DIY filter everyone uses, which is much freer flowing than a toyota filter.

And I believe the main issue was just that the cars AC did not cool as well (or they didnt think it was) with the extra filter in the system. I can take mine in and out and there is zero noticeable difference.

And the restriction the filter would add would be minimal compared to running the AC with most of the vents closed, so it is not going to hurt the system to do so.

 

I apologize. I agree ^^^ This topic has been covered many times. I've done this mod, following the diy on this forum. Your car will be fine with a cabin filter.
