I thought about it, but after looking under at it, came to the conclusion that it'd be WAY more work than i'd want, and when inspection time came around, I'd only get hassled more.

so i'm looking at that site and their is a list which says our vehicles use the 11-bit CAN interface. This may be a dumb question but does that mean I can buy the CAN adapter plug? Because you are using the OBDII box...or will they both work? Would their be any difference in the displayed data between the two?

why dont you cut the OBD2 plug off and tap the wires into the wires on the cars OBD2 connector. mormally all youll need is 3 wires, power, gnd and data. just a thought at least, thats what ill be doing.

As to the OP post what unit you have and a link to it so that maybe someone can brainstorm an idea for you
