Perrin Shorty Antenna ~ Reception Problems
I just installed the Perrin Short Antenna yesterday, and I love the way it looks. Unfortunately it gets sh*@@y reception. Not sure if there was something I did or didn't do that should have been done. I just removed the stock antenna, kept that ring with the slots untouched and screwed the new antenna on.
Suggestions?

You shoud have gotten a S2K Antenna. My reception is actually better with it. (Go Figure?) Unfortunately, that's how the Perrin is. You didn't do anything wrong, its just depending on your area the antenna sux. (For reception purposes.) It does look good though!

agreed, the honda s2k antenna provides the same or better (mine was better as well)reception as the stock antenna. also, CapeCodBlitzBlue, the tC pull down forum menu shows several tC forums. this thread would have been better served in the tC "ice & interior forum" since it deals with your antenna's reception (if it had been about how it looked it could been in the aero & exterior forum ). i'm gonna move it there. maybe some folk have had experience with your particular aftermarket antenna.

Bringing this thread back from the dead!
Unfortunately I really didn't do much research about shorty antennas. I installed my perrin yesterday and as everyone else above says, the reception is crap. So after playing with it, I found that when screwed in all of the way, it has horrible reception. But when you unscrew it a bit, you will find that the reception gets better. But now you have an antenna that is loose and wobbly. I just threw some medium strength thread locker on there so that it would hold. It works for now, but I'm sure that eventually I'll need to replace it. And then I'll move onto the S2k antenna. Hope this helped anyone that searched.

I was also experiencing bad reception with my shorty antenna. All I did was cut a piece off of a sharpie pen cap (about 1cm) and put it in between. That did the trick! It's on there tight and good reception!
