Hi everyone,

I am looking to upgrade my speakers in my car.

I plan to do 6.5"s, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I do a component setup in the front with tweeters, and then just two standard speakers for the rear, does this sound right? Do I need anything else like amps or anything? I have an ED NINe.2x Amp powering two ED 13Kv.2 12" Subs, could that amp also power the speakers?

Also....What are some good brands, I was looking at This, but I can't seem to find just speakers on there website....

Are there any other good decently priced brands?

I would not put anything in the back. Just save the money and use it to get a better set of components for the front and an amp to power them.

Yep. If you are going to get a nice set of components then you are going to need an amp to power them. You won't need anything for the rear. I never have rear speakers in my setups.

 

Can I use the one powering the subs? Or should I get a different one?

Any recommendations on brands that I will hear the difference?

 

Get a separate amp to power them. What is your price range, that will really help people answer your question.

Is that for a set of components and an amp? If so I would say save up some more so you can do it right the first time.

 

The Alpine MRP-F300 is the one I was suggested to power components.
I haven't heard anything bad about it.

And if you're talking about $250 max for both an amp AND components...

yes that would be much improved over stock. the stock speakers blow.

hu ---- rca's ----> amp
hu ---- remote wire -----> amp
amp ----- speaker wire -----> components

god yes it will be a big improvement.that is a nice amp for that price it is hard to do any better and the new ed comps are really good as well.your system will sound nice and clear and loud with that .

 

will 6.5's fit in the doors though? everywhere i looked 5.25's are the option to sit in the doors.
