to you guys who have built systems in the past and are advising he does not upgrade the rear speakers, should he just leave the stock ones in connected directly to the head unit or just remove them entirely... im just wondering for my future reference :-)

I always remove them completely. If you set up your frontstage correctly then you will not need rear fill.

 

should i leave the wires there or is it safe to rip em out too?

 

DO NOT RIP THEM OUT. do not cut the plugs, run all new wiring

 

So just leave the rear wiring?

I plan on running new wiring for the speakers, where do I cut the wires then? Close to the harness?

 

you don't ever cut wires. youll just unplug the harness and then run your speaker wire back to the amp

from the speakers yes. just disconnect and leave them hanging. thats what i've done

 

ok, now the front speakers, do i tap the front harnesses or what? or if i have an amp plugged in the front amp, it will turn of stock speaker wire?

 

yes and then you just run your component speaker from the amp to the speaker. once you unplug the stock harnesses they're essentially pointless

 

o! i just unplug the speaker harness all together
