Default A-Pillar and Airbags

Here is the question: Has anyone out there that has the additional airbags (the ones in the A-pillar) taken off the a-pillar cover? I'm trying to remove the cover to run a wire between the A-pillar and the dash, but I couldn't get it off. I had the battery disconnected at the time so I'm not too worried about it firing or anything, but from what everyone who doesn't have the airbags has said, you just loosen it at the top and pull, essentially. I can get my hand in there at the top but I can't get the clip to let go. Can anyone confirm that even with the extra airbags this works the same way? Thanks in advance!

I just took my TC to the dealer to get the sunroof cover replaced. In the process they had to pull off the roof and the pillar covers (both front and back). To my surprise and the dealers the pillars and roof were one time use only. They had to order a new roof liner and pillars for me. What was supposed to be a 4 hour install turned into a weeks worth of waiting for parts. I'm still waiting for the back pillars to come in.

Yikes - good to know. I know a lot of clips may or may not go back together, but if they're supposed to be single use, I don't think I'm going to be pulling them off.

I got lucky the sunroof cover was under warranty and since the scion dealer didn't know about the panels they didn't charge me. Even gave me a rental car till the roof liner and the front pillars came in.

My pillar went right back on with the same clips. Its the same clips if you have the airbags or not, just be careful.

Thanks Nick. Do you have the airbags? Any trick to pulling it off? Just get it loose at the top then pull toward the center of the car?

no I dont have the airbags, But I have removed one with. Actually when you pull start at the top and pull up and out. They arent pop in clips, they are slide in clips. I will see if I have pictures after work.

If you had pictures that would be great! I really pulled hard, so I'm pretty sure I was just doing it wrong, especially if they slide! That would be great to know - I think I might start a whole new thread if that's the case - gotta inform the peeps!
