why is it so expensive then, around like 1400 1500, i mean if it is just navigation. It doesn't sound right.

Yes everything works while the GPS screen is up. There are two buttons on the top left to switch between GPS and Audio. You can have Video (from external device), AM/FM, XM/Sirius, and whatever else you like. All you have to do is hit one of the buttons and it switches the screen view.

PS2 Slim is fairly easy to hook up. You have to decide if the DVD functionality is really worth buying an eclipse for.

Pioneer Nav is way better then Eclipse Nav.
If you are an XM subscriber, I would also recommend getting the Pioneer.

what about kenwood? ddx7017 or ddx 6019 i am thinking about buying one of those with a navigation unit, it is supposed to play dvds already but i have to buy an extra navigation unit as well so total would cost around 1700, would the navigation worth it? or do you still think that the pioneer's navigation is better?

Another thing to consider is that if you can get a hold of an AVN30D, which is basically a Toyota spec AVN5435, you'll have 100% compatibility with the steering wheel audio controls.

I honestly like Pioneer's interface and overall GPS a lot more but steering wheel audio compatibility is worth even more to me as I use them much more than I use the nav.

The PAC unit would allow the Pioneer to be compatible with the steering wheel controls but it's not as reliable as it relies on a infrared (or something like that) connection.

Between the two, determine how important which features are to you and get what you feel is more compatible with you.

The PAC-SWI PS is hard wired. No infrared and works almost as well as the stock with response time.

well the navigation and the interface is the most important thing to me, by interface i mean, the ease of use. I don't want it to be too complicated or too simple.

If you are looking for best navigation - go with the pioneer. It is easy to use and from the few i have used - the best.
I would have to say the Phone number search is the best to look up any business. If you look at my install - i posted some pictures of the menus. If you want more - I can take them.

The thing is i can get the kenwood dvd and navigation for about 1000 or something and with the pioneer i checked online especially on ebay, i am buying navigation only for 1000 so i am kinda in the middle about deciding i can get both or one with the same money but if the navigation of kenwood sucks than it is out of question that is for sure.
