I installed this into my friends infinity G35, the bypass was the hardest part and that was easy, the head unit is amazing especially if you have an IPhone this thing works amazing with it, the Pandora link is sick and as soon as the new firmware comes out. Im going to buy this unit its very user friendly and the navigation was spot on if you install the GPS antenna in the right spot. The ipod features is what i used the most and it was fast to search and play a song. Only thing that got me was the boot up time, but the firmware will fixed that.

I have the F900bt which was actually the replacement for the D3 and was the first version of the 920. Pioneer does a good job of updating the units with firmware updates.

Two people sent me a message for this unit and how to bypass it so here are the instructions for everyone.

You just cut the mute wire out of the harness and move it exactly one pin over, then ground it and the parking brake sensor wire to the ground wire and ground wire to a ground

I wish I still had my headunit. Everyone likes to steal things around here, even the damn center caps!

Not trying to thread jack - but are there any major differences between the D3 and the X920BT or X910BT? I am also in the market for a nav head unit and am definately going Pioneer as I have heard nothing but great things. Just wondering if its worth spending an extra $300 for a newer X920BT model as opposed to an older D3. Vpfosho hopefully this info can help you too!

The X920BT gets a new UI (touch scrolling), Pandora via iPhone, Ecodrive, and Musicsphere.

920bt has the advantage of built in Navigation and Ipod search and full controls using your voice, no switching disc and general awesomness from the 920bt headunit.

If you're looking for a stealth install... I think most people here, including myself, have put their GPS antenna above the air duct behind the waterfall. There's also a small area on the right side of where the headunit sits that you can mount on, it works but you might not get the best signal.

Just installed this unit in my tC today. It looks great, and works fantastic. Boots up in 15 seconds, Navi is built in, so no DVD. Installation was a piece of cake, too. Highly recommend it!

I went with the Avic 3200BT... which has pretty much the same interface as the 920 minus the GPS and I love it. Ipod navigation is excellent, along with the bluetooth.
