Default Power Failure

This is the first time this has happened to me in my tC, but I need advise.

Background Info:

2005 Scion tC
Stock Alternator
Optima Yellowtop Battery
#2 power and bround from the battery, then splits into #4 to the amps
(2) 1.2 Farad Tsunami Cap's
(2) 12" Blaupunkt Velocity Subs http://www.blaupunkt.com/us/7606200264_main.asp
(2) Blaupunkt Velocity Amps http://www.blaupunkt.com/us/7607792192_main.asp

Problem:

My car was running fine, then I went to my dealership last night (part time job), shut the car off, and went inside. Well a salesmen wanted to see my car, so I give him the keys, he goes to turn it on, and all you get is "CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK". So I get a battery pack, and start the car. I let it run for about 30 mins (idle) and look at my volt meter, and its right about 13.4. I go to turn the car off to see if it will re-start, and no... it didnt. So i get a camry, go to advance auto, and get a new yellow top. I install the new yellow top, and so far so good.

The question:

Do you think its just the battery? or could it be the alternator as well? Im thinking if I had the car run that long after i used the battery pack (on the old battery), that the car woulda shut down if the alternator was bad, and ive only had that yellow top for 2 years, and a little over 1 year with the stress of the sound system.

so give me your insite, i wanna know what others think

can't you take it to an ntb, where they can test the battery, alternator etc.

also, with all that audio equipment, you should get a capacitor put in.

maybe an nst 20% overdrive alternator for more power.

i just had the alternator off the car like 2 weeks ago, i really dont feel like taking it off just to get it tested... but if i have another power failure, i will for sure

im leaning towards the same thing, but wanted more insite. and i see the one guy said the yellow tops had a flaw in them. the new one i picked up last night did look slightly different... so im curious if they modified anything on the inside of the battery.

Its your battery chief the same thing just happened to me over the weekend. Click, click, click. I've got a system that's been running on a red top for 3 years; I replaced that and bam! car started right up. The alternator is fine cause when i get the car started my voltage jumps to about 13.8 -14.0v. If you've got Caps they can "fool" you when measuring the voltage right after your car has already been started found that out through my troubleshooting (cause my car would start realllll sluggish).
