Default Powered Sub Power Wire clarification

Hey guys, after some extensive research on these forums, yoursciontc, and others, I still need some clarification on a few details for hooking up my Infinity Basslink powered sub. Just to let you know, im simply changing the HU to a pioneer DEH 3800 and adding the basslink.

First of all, the user's manual for the basslink says "Use at least #12 awg wire".
Now I just recently was introduced to wiring standards so my question is does this mean I can use 10 or 8 gauge wire as well? The basslink is about 200 watts. Another thing is it wants me to use a 20A fuse but I found an amp kit which comes with 8 gauge and a 50a fuse. will this work just as well? I got the impression that this kit will work - http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...?prodID=eKo-K8

If anyone knows about this stuff please let me know if that kit is appropriate for the job.

Finallly, i'm still not clear on how the power wire attaches to the battery. Does anyone have pictures of this? I believe i've read explanations on this matter before but it would do so much better to see a picture of the setup on the battery. thanks a lot.

well first off... yes you can go up to 8 gauge... it starts to become a bit of overkill because the amp draws so little current... but 8 or 10 will work just fine... now for the fuse... drop down to a 20 or 30 amp depending on what style fuse holder you get... cause otherwise you run the risk of smoking the basslink...

as for a connection to the bat... take off the red cover on the positive terminal on our battery... there is a 12mm nut on the top of the terminal... just place the ring on the end of your power wire on that... put nut back on and tighten down...

Just wanted to add, use the recommended fuse rating of 20 amps, and place the fuse within 18 inches of the battery.
