a single sub can be plenty. one will be plenty for most people. one sub can get hella loud if done right.

BTW, the world spl record right now is held using a single sub. 180.x db's.

alright, thanks for the input, guys. really helped me a lot. i'll just go to a local shop and ask them to build me a custom box that'll be a bit more than half the volume of the box i have right now.

i would, but the thing is, the sound isn't the only problem. i want to be able to put more than my backpack squished into the trunk which is why i'm going the new-box route, but thanks for the suggestion.
