Default Problem with amp...need help.

i have the ed nine.2 amp with 2 sq10's...i just installed them a week ago. on wednesday the subs just cut out in the middle of a song then came back on about 3 songs later. on saturday they cut out again but never came back on. i spent an hour yesterday checking wires and fuses and everything seems fine. i think it has to do with the amp because i put my hand on the subs to see if i could feel any bass at all but they werent moving. and i doubt i could have blown them since, besides on the first day, i dont turn the bass up at all. any suggestions on what to check or has anyone else had this problem with an ed amp?

Sounds like your putting your amp into protection mode. Do you have the correct settings? Bass boost off, gain set accordingly and the lpf on and set to around 80?

your amp is bad...go back to where you bought the amp and get a diff one. If you cant get a diff one at the store you have to send it in for repair. sucks but get on that asap!

How many watts are you giving the subs........the SQ 10s will not take much more than 250 each and depending onthe type of bass you are giving them if it is clipping or not they will blow.

Did you set your gains with a tone diska nd a DMM so that you do not over power the subs.

I've had similar problems with my car. It's not a Scion, but it may be relevent.
My subs would cutoff every now and then until finally they never came back on. The times it did cut off it seemed to be during a hard turn or so. I checked all the components. Wires, fuses, speaker and amp. Everything seemed perfect, but it actually turned out to be a fuse. The one right after the battery went bad, even though it hadn't blown. The metal loop was still connected but the two contact pins on the bottom were cracked. I never understood it...
After getting a new fuse it all works now.

Sometimes a speaker will still play when there is something wrong with it. In that case the amp will shut off to protect itself bacause it senses something isn't right.

its because theres actually less connection from the fuse line to the terminal then the fuse line itself! very common with 60a fuses and up except ANL. if its not that, then check ur ground. if u connected the ground on the seatbelt bolt or most other bolts its a bad ground because of the threadlock. scratch some chassis and go for it. if its not those too then check the amp fuses, if its not that, then maybe, just maybe ur remote turn on wire is bad or came off, if not that, go to a pro shop and let them worry about it lol

sounds to me like your running the amp at a ohm load its not stable at, making the amp go into protect mode. this is caused by not wiring up the subs correctly. it happens all the time and is very common. if you have a muti meter you can check the ohm load on each sub, to make sure you didnt blow them. next check all connections!!! then meter the amp making sure its getting the correct voltage. go to rockford fosgate and they have wire diagrams that show you how to wire up a subs at the right ohm load. you probley have two daul vioce coil subs wired up wrong.

it's fixed
it had nothing to do with ohms
sq 10's are only single voice coil
they dont make dual voice coil sq 10's
it was the ground
i bolted it to the chassis but i guess it came a little loose
i tightened the hell out of it so that shouldn't happen again
if it does next time ill know to check that first
thanks you all for the help
