Problem with subs and amp.
Okay, so I have a 1200 watt sony xplode amp, and I'm trying to hook up 2 12'' duals to them.... they work, but they keep blowing my fuses! I had a 30 amp fuse in there and it still is blowing... is there something wrong with my connections or what? I noticed my amp gets really hot too..

lesson #1 its an XPLODE amp what do you expect? 1200watts I dont think so.
lesson #2 its DUAL subs.
Lesson #3 its getting hot probably because you don't have the subs hooked up to them right.

I'm not sure exactly which Xplode amp you are using, but reading the manual would be nice. I looked online at the Sony XM-2200GTX amp with 1200 watts rating. It is clearly stated that this amp has 2x40A fuses on it. So you need to have at least an 80A fuse in your wiring to bring out the full power of this without blowing a fuse. If your not using a low gauge wire then you will fry the wire.
Also, its putting out 200 RMS x2 @4 Ohm so whichever Dual subs you have they should work fine, but check their ratings and make sure you dont give them more power than they can handle or you'll blow them. Your amp is getting hot because you are drawing more power than your wires can handle, amps get a little hot at full power anyway, but so long as its well ventilated you should be fine.
I suggest you should do some more research on subs and amplifiers for future installs so you don't have these problems.

I had my subs bridged through my speakers, and a result of that, when I turned my music up, my fuse would blow, i'd check my wires, etc. and my amp would be so hot that barely touching it would literally burn my finger, and I knew that wasn't right. I figured it out though, thanks for your help everyone, I really appreciate it.
