i gomt a lil set up going but there must be kink somewhere but i cant find it.

the have the ps2 and screen (17" dell computer monitor monitor) plugged into a 400watt power invertor. i have the ps2 hooked up to the screen courtesy of a rca to vga adaptor. everything powers ip. ps2 light turns green i can turn screen on/off. screen remians black unless i hit a button on the screen and it pops up for a second that it is in power save mode and that i should turn on my computer of hit a keyboard button.

what am i doing wrong?
