Default question about hooking up a LOC to stock unit

I am buying a Dave Navone 2 channel line output converter. Which pari of speaker outputs would be best to tap off of? I was just wasnt sure if their was a difference in the equalization of the rear and front?

For anyone that has bought the stock subwoofer rca connector that go behind the oem radio, what pair of speaker outputs does it tap off of? THat would probably be best to replicate.

The rear speakers in the tC are attenuated from the factory.... however, I don't know that this would affect a line output converter.... I know alot of people tap the rears, so I suppose it's your call...

I doubt the attenuation would effect it. I really was wondering if they were eq'd differently. I dont want to tap into them for my sub amp, and find out that there is a cut below 60hz or somethign like that.

Im taking the head unit out either way, and installing the LOC back there. That way i wont have to run RCAs twice, if i decide to replace the head unit in the future.

tap the rears. that is the common practice for our cars. they tapped the rears on mine, although if your worried about SQ, you might as well just get a new HU. no amount of EQ on the stock HU will make the subs sound as good as from an aftermarket HU.

Yeah, front or rear, doesn't matter too much.

Happy b-day Mr. Bird....but weren't you 42 yesterday and now you're 40?

ONe last question. Not sure if anyone has the answer to this. I plan on using tap ins to make the connections. This way i dont have to cut any of the factory wiring.

I need to the know what gauge the factory speaker and remote wire is?

I didn't cut any wires but I was soldering my remote turn on for my amp the other day to the back of the head unit, and i'm pretty sure it was 14 or 16 i used to shed the wire, but I can't be 100% sure ;\

On a different note, for the life of me I can't find anything on the forums about how to actually connect a LOC. If any of you could perhaps give me a run down on where I should solder the wires (I don't want to cut any, since this is my first time doing it). Or if I should just go have someone install it for me (after doing the rest of it, building the box, and even carpeting it myself, and messing with that damn firewall :p) I'd feel it a waste, but I'll do what I have to I guess. Any help with knowing how to put this LOC in would be great.

You can email me at PyrowolfNK@aim.com

I bought my RCA cords at circuit city (they're back with the Amp install kits, same with any store that sells subs and decks generally), and the line out converter i got at a place her in Colorado called Car Toys (i don't know if they're just local or what, but there's a good few of them across CO). The only problem I'm having is finding the correct 12+ V wire on the back of the stereo for the remote turn-on wire, and the 5 wires i need to tap into with the Line Output Converter

I didnt cut any wires, solder, or take out the radio. I just tapped the rear speaker wires where you can see them under the rear trim panels, where the back speakers are mounted. Look for the wires with silver marks!!

I used wire taps, just liek the ones that come with the rear view mirror. WOrks great. Got my acc from near the fuse box using the same tap.
