questions with ipod capability
I have a 2005 RS1 and I put the premium stereo in and I want to do the ipod capability .... what exactly will i need just the cable or is there more? Thankyou
Also, well I realized how much your value of a car depreciates by upgrading things on it. But I was wondering what if you put some of the latest features in the tC's would that hurt it such as the steering wheel with stereo buttons latest headlights stuff like that?

the ipod connection that runs to the back of the radio i heard is very short, so theres another cable you plug into that one and that runs to the arm rest. I have an 07 so when i swapped radios, it plugged right in, if your arm rest inside didnt come with the plug or place for it, i would look into doing a complete swap of the armrest storage area with cables and all. just a thought

he has an 2005, there's a missing harness that's not built into the car.
it'd be more practical just to buy an aftermarket headunit.. you totally got jipped into buying a headunit you can't fully utilize.

but by "default", the 2006-2007 were pre-wired to accept the ipod headunits.. the 2005 doesn't have that wiring.
which is what i've been trying to say...
(and then 2008+ are obviously wired too, but it comes with an ipod deck standard anyway)
like i said in my very first reply.. it's more practical to just get a better aftermarket headunit
(the suggested avic f-series like mentioned above is a great choice)
